The Bruce Peninsula

Foreword: I am finally catching up to writing some very delayed posts. Please enjoy our trip to the land snuggled between the Georgian Bay and Lake Huron.

We visited Tobermory in August of 2015. Singing Sands Beach, an undeniably magical name, was our first stop.

We stayed in cabins in a backyard fitted with a barbecue, small pond, and plenty of trees. Walking around here in the morning felt like a scene straight out of an L.M. Montgomery novel (the crazy amount of mosquitoes was slightly less romantic).

The next day saw us visiting the Grotto, before splitting up on different level of hikes.

The weather took a turn for the worse, and this was the first time I heard the frightening sound of a weather warning on the radio. There was a severe thunderstorm and tornado warning, and the radio would be interrupted every minute with a terrifying sound.

Thankfully, everyone got back safely (some of our group had to be rescued in the middle of their hike by super sweet park rangers who drove them back to our cabin) and the sunset after the storm was especially gorgeous.

The next day, we headed to Flowerpot Island. This is probably one of the most scenic places I have been with my dog, and he ended up being my model for most of my photos.

We started the drive back and stopped at Lions Head for dinner. Tobermory and the Bruce Peninsula is seriously beautiful. It contains landscapes that I didn't know Ontario had; cliffs, rock formations, deep blue bays, and soft, sandy beaches. I would love to visit again soon.
