BCYK: Hot springs and ski planes

These are the kind of mornings I dreamed about when I was a child. A cozy fire, sunlight filtering in through the porch, the smell of breakfast wafting through the wooden cabin walls.

Our host made us bannock! Does it get any more Canadian than this?

After breakfast, we soaked our tired legs at the Takhini Hot Springs. This is the first hot spring I have visited, having been too shy to go to the onsen in Japan.

Another visit to the Village Bakery & Deli was made before heading over to the Icefield Discovery.

The view was breathtaking from above; lakes, trees, mountains, and even sheep were spotted.

We landed on the Hubbard Glacier in front of Mount Logan, the tallest peak in Canada. A poor lonely soul stays up here alone with only the guests and pilot as company during the summer months.

Something to note: I get motion sickness pretty easily. Especially when in small spaces that lack fresh air, I get a headache and feel nauseous within minutes. The combination of that with the loud engine, the tight headset, and the bumpy ride brought about the symptoms pretty quickly. I was so glad to make it to the top and just breathe in fresh air.

Our pilot was really nice and cracked the window for our flight back, but the woozy feeling persisted long after landing.

The cracks of water in the ice look like Powerade running through the ground.

There were limited options for dinner as we got back rather late - Chinese food at New Asia Restaurant was the choice for the night.
