We headed out after breakfast and drove past many houses and farms. My memory has become very fuzzy, so please accept these photos as a window into what we did on our way to Galway.
We took a ferry over; one of the few where you were allowed to stay inside your car.

We stayed in Galway for the night; there were forest fires raging nearby, and the air quality was quite poor. A haze filled the sky and my lungs, and I couldn't step outside without having a coughing fit. We did have dinner at John Keogh's, and then hurried back to our place.
