My fridge at home has almost never been empty. We are a family that makes entirely too much food, and so our fridge has to hold our leftovers until they are either eaten or forgotten.
An empty fridge has always seemed to be such a foreign concept to me. It wasn't until I saw my sister's bare bones fridge that I realized how much the presence of food in a fridge was a comfort I had taken for granted.
Yet at the same time, I loved the bare fridge, because you could clearly see each item, and small boxes of leftovers wouldn't sit in the corner and turn into a moldy mess. They often say your surroundings reflect your state of mind, and the refrigerator is definitely one of mine.
