The Bruce Peninsula

Foreword: I am finally catching up to writing some very delayed posts. Please enjoy our trip to the land snuggled between the Georgian Bay and Lake Huron.

16 hours in a car

The drive from Yosemite to Portland is about 12 hours, no stopping, no traffic. We got up early and made ourselves some breakfast at our inn in Mammoth Lakes; I had frozen blueberry waffles with peanut butter, jam, and syrup, yogurt, orange juice and some herbal tea. We all grabbed a banana for the road, I signed the wall, and we loaded the car and got ready for our long journey northwest.

Cruising down Highway 1

Coastal highways and salty ocean air.

We began the drive from Los Angeles to the Bay Area bright and early. We passed by Malibu and got a quick pick-me-up from Coffee Bean (loved their hot Thai tea!).

Summer of travelling

I've always been lucky enough to have gone on frequent vacations with my family ever since I was a child. We would go camping at least once a year, and take a trip somewhere, oftentimes close by, and once in awhile on the other side of the world. When I was younger, I thought that going on a summer vacation was the norm; I don't take that for granted anymore.

That being said, I also went through the typical teenager stages where I increasingly valued my friends over my family, and we often talked of going on a trip together. This summer, it finally happened.

Here are a few snaps from the summer, more detailed posts to come...
